Find the barriers in your training before your learners do

Participating in this course was one of the best professional decisions I have made. I am much better equipped to assess digital content and hold vendors accountable for ensuring full accessibility. I am looking forward to consulting on the improvement of eLearning modules in my organization and impacting the educational experience for all. This course gave me the confidence, toolbox and skills to do so!  

This training provided a clear and practical understanding of the Web Content Accessiblity Guidelines (WCAG) standards, which I can now apply to enhance accessibility across our online courses. The resources were highly relevant, and the instructional videos made complex concepts easy to grasp. The final course audit project, paired with Nicole’s timely and constructive feedback, was especially valuable in helping me identify areas for improvement and strengthen my ability to guide faculty and course developers moving forward.  

The course Making Online Content Accessible for All was inspiring, humbling, and eye-opening. There is so much content to learn, but it was broken down into meaningful and logical chunks for each week. The materials were informative and relevant and also showed the human side, which really drove home the purpose and importance of learning the content. Nicole truly walks the talk and offered options for accessing content and for submitting assignments. She gave excellent feedback along the way and was always quick to respond with suggestions and support. Learning from others in the cohort was also tremendously helpful. Having a group so willing to share their perspectives and experiences enhanced the course.  I know that I still have a lot to learn, but I also feel more comfortable in knowing how to navigate the guidelines, in building with accessibility at the forefront, and in utilizing resources. I will continue to evolve and to champion accessibility.

I really enjoyed how the course (Making Online Content Accessible for All) is structured around WCAG guidelines. Breaking the content into clear, manageable sections made learning something completely new and complex feel achievable. My favorite part was the practical, hands-on approach. We didn't just learn what to do; we actually applied the skills. This experience has given me the confidence to approach accessibility more proactively, and I now feel better equipped to implement accessible design in my work.
